Luke Donald overcame a three-shot deficit heading into the final round of the Transitions Championship to fire a five-under 66, 13-under total, and earn a spot in the four- man playoff with Robert Garrigus, Jim Furyk and Sang-Moon Bae which was announced at Transitions Championship few hours ago.
That Donald gave a big uppercut with his right fist to celebrate the end of a wild day at Innisbrook ended Rory Mcllroy’s two week stay atop the world ranking as well as drove a devastating finish for Ernie Els.

It was really an unlucky day for Afican golfer. Els was among eight players who were tied for the lead at some point in the final round, and he had a one shot lead going into the closing stretch known as the “Snack Pit” at the Copperhead course. The Big Easy missed a 4-foot birdie putt on the 16th, and then badly missed a 4-foot par putt on the 18th hole that caused him to miss the playoff by one shot.
Most recently, Donald surmounted Lee Westwood as the world No.1 with a play-off victory at Wenworth. This time, the same happened but it was a much tougher task due to against to 3 golfers. The win he got is completely worthy of Donald’s skill and ability.
